After a housing mix-up at the university, Yuuta is
unexpectedly offered a room in a shared apartment — the only catch? He’ll be
living with Kizora Araki, who is (unbeknownst to him) Japan’s newest gravure
sensation. When they first meet, he doesn't recognize her, and treats her like
a normal person — awkward, messy, and slightly moody.
Kizora, used to being idolized or judged, finds his
indifference… refreshing.
Their first weeks are clumsy. She leaves lingerie drying in
the bathroom. He blasts classical music while reading. She’s constantly coming
home from late-night shoots exhausted, still in full makeup. But small things
start to shift — he makes her tea when she's too tired to speak. She helps him
revise his writing assignments.
He finds out who she is by accident — her face on a
billboard in Shibuya.
Instead of teasing her, he simply asks:
“Do you ever get tired of pretending to be her?”
As they grow closer, Kizora opens up about her loneliness —
how her career is built on smiles and illusions, and how difficult it is to
tell what kind of affection is real. Yuuta, dealing with his own fear of failure
and self-doubt, begins to write a story inspired by her — not the idol, but the
person she is when she’s slouched on the couch in pajamas.
Their bond deepens, built not on fantasy, but on small
kindnesses and late-night talks.
A scandal breaks: someone leaks private photos of Kizora,
claiming she’s in a secret relationship. Paparazzi camp outside their
apartment. Yuuta is pressured to move out. Kizora is told to deny everything.
Instead, she goes on live stream — no makeup, no costume —
and says:
“I’m not perfect. I’m just me. And maybe it’s time I stop
hiding.”
After the storm, things change. Kizora takes a break from
modeling, focusing on finishing college. Yuuta’s short story about “the girl
behind the lens” wins a small award — and when he thanks her in his speech,
she’s in the back row, smiling, finally at peace.
They walk home together in silence, hands barely brushing.
No grand confession. Just two people choosing to share a
quiet evening, honestly.~
