Hatanaka has a smartphone app that stops time, and the worst possible person to hold it: a man with a grudge. His junior colleague Yohei has been promoted over him and turned insufferable about it, so when the get-together at Yohei's house puts Hatanaka face to face with his boss's kind, beautiful-breasted wife, the app comes out. Reina is warm and welcoming and completely unaware, and he kisses her, gropes her, and cashes in months of humiliation while the clock stands still.
The cruelty is in the staging. He doesn't just take her in the hallway — he freezes time mid-way through the couple's own lovemaking and again while she's soaking in the bath, enjoying her whole body inches from her oblivious husband and finishing inside her on a whim. What elevates it past a gimmick is the twist: somewhere in all that frozen silence, Reina starts to notice. Tears well up, her body writhes, and when time snaps back the pleasure floods out of her in front of Yohei with no explanation she can give.
Reina Momozono is exactly right for the role, soft and sweet-natured and utterly wrecked by the end of it. Director Hiromichi Hose keeps the camera close and the husband in frame, and at two hours forty it has room to be thorough. If time-stop NTR and a smug boss getting quietly cuckolded are your weakness, DSOD-136 is the one.
