After a housing mix-up, Tomo and Mai — old classmates from
high school — end up moving into the same apartment. Neither is thrilled, but

roommate who won’t burn the place down.
It’s day one. She’s already doing yoga in the living room in

She slurps his ramen. He watches her. She licks her lips.
Tomo (to himself): Don’t look at the sports bra.

As days pass, Mai unintentionally keeps testing Tomo's
limits — emotionally and visually. She’s affectionate in weird ways: tackling
him with hugs when he finishes work, stealing his hoodies, lying on the floor
next to his desk “because the sun is warm here.”
He tells himself it’s just temporary. Until she falls asleep
on his shoulder during a movie.
And he doesn’t move. Not for hours.
One night, Tomo finds Mai crying quietly in the laundry
room. Her dog back home is sick. She didn’t want to bother him with “puppy
sadness.” He listens, comforts her… and realizes: she’s not just energetic and
loud. She’s also soft, scared, and very, very human.
That night, for the first time, he hugs her first.
They never formally start dating — it just kind of… happens.
He buys her favorite ramen. She stops stealing his hoodies
and starts folding his laundry. When someone asks if they’re dating, she says,
